This lesson starts with a word Eon's dad uses a lot: review.

What "review" means

To review is to go back over something you learned before — and check that it really stuck.

So first, a quick test: move the mouse up, down, left, right, and watch the cursor follow. Eon passes! That's the point of reviewing — make sure the basics are solid before stacking new things on top.

A closer look at the mouse

Now the new part: the mouse isn't just one button. Most mice have three parts:

  • a left button,
  • a right button, and
  • a scroll wheel in the middle.

Each one does a different job — and in 3D modeling, Eon will use all three (the wheel especially, coming up next).

Try it

Find a mouse and name its parts: left button, right button, wheel. Give each a gentle press. Knowing your tool is the first step to using it well.
